Product Description
Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 BDC-2 MOA Riflescope
The Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 BDC-2 MOA riflescope is an evolutionary upgrade in hunting optics. With a wide zoom range and a Dead-Hold BDC reticle, this riflescope delivers fast, confident aiming across varied distances, helping you make precise shots when every second counts.
At the heart of the Viper HS is a rugged, precision-engineered optical system. The scope sits on a 30 mm one-piece aluminum tube that provides exceptional strength and stability, while increasing windage and elevation travel for optimal adjustment. The combination of XD lens elements and Extra Low Dispersion glass enhances resolution and color fidelity, ensuring crisp, high-contrast images in diverse light conditions. The XR lens coatings are fully multi-coated to maximize light transmission, delivering bright, clear views from first light to last light. Together, these optical innovations translate into faster target acquisition and more confident follow-up shots in the field.
The Dead-Hold BDC reticle is a standout feature designed to minimize holdover guesswork. With a customized hash-mark design, it provides intuitive guidance for holdover and windage corrections, making it easier to estimate drops at varying distances. Whether you’re stalking through brush or shooting across open terrain, this reticle helps you align sight picture quickly and shoot with precision.
Beyond optics, the Viper HS is built for durability and field reliability. The 30 mm tube and single-piece construction maximize alignment and rigidity, while aircraft-grade aluminum delivers the strength needed to withstand recoil. The exterior is protected by ArmorTek, an ultra-hard, scratch-resistant coating that defends against oil, dirt, and micro-scratches. The hard anodized finish reduces glare for discreet shooting and helps conceal your position in varying lighting environments.
Performance in real-world conditions is further ensured by waterproof and fogproof design. The interior is filled with argon gas to inhibit fogging across temperature changes, and the internal components are sealed with O-rings to keep moisture and dust out. The scope is also shockproof, with lenses locked in place by machined locking rings to maintain alignment and optical performance after repeated recoil and impacts. This combination of protection and stability means you can rely on the Viper HS in diverse hunting situations and on the range.
In terms of practicality, the Viper HS includes several user-friendly features. Capped turrets protect from accidental movement and impact, while the Mag View magnification indicator provides a quick reference in low-light conditions. The Fast Focus Eyepiece allows rapid reticle focusing, so you can quickly acquire your target and regain sight picture after a shot. The scope’s 1/4 MOA graduation with a generous 86 MOA of elevation and windage travel gives you ample adjustment range for long-range engagements without sacrificing precision at shorter ranges. The combination of these conveniences makes the Viper HS straightforward to use in the field, whether you’re a seasoned hunter or a shooter building a precision setup.

Operationally, this riflescope is designed to balance versatility with reliability. The 30 mm tube increases adjustment latitude, which is particularly useful for long-range work or when shooting from varied positions. The combination of the XD lens elements and XR coatings ensures that details stay sharp and color remains faithful whether you’re tracking a game animal through dappled light or aiming across an open field. The Dead-Hold BDC reticle supports quick decision-making, letting you adapt to wind shifts and target distance without fumbling for holdover values, a benefit in fast-moving or dynamic hunting scenarios.
From a build perspective, the Viper HS is a precision instrument designed to transcend rough handling. The aircraft-grade aluminum construction, combined with a one-piece tube, minimizes misalignment over time and helps maintain consistent performance as the barrel heats during prolonged sessions. The ArmorTek coating protects against scratches and environmental exposure, while the hard anodized finish minimizes glare that could reveal your position in low-light conditions. The integration of waterproof and fogproof features ensures reliability in humid mornings, dewy grass, or sudden temperature swings, making this scope a dependable companion for outdoor enthusiasts who demand consistency.
For those who value user experience, the Viper HS’s thoughtful details matter. The Mag View magnification indicator is particularly useful when tracking changes in magnification in low light, and the capped turrets provide peace of mind against accidental dialing during transport or handling. The Fast Focus Eyepiece enables quick reticle focusing so you can reacquire the target image without wasting precious seconds on the clock. All of these features are tuned to deliver a seamless experience, whether you’re dialing in on a long shot or switching from a stalking approach to a rapid engagement on moving game.
