Real thermal footage of warthogs, shown in each palette. Palettes only change the colours; the heat data is the same.

- Magnification
- What you can tell
The view starts at this unit's own magnification. The further away the animal, and the wider the field of view, the less detail the sensor picks up, until you can tell something warm is there but not what it is. Zooming in makes it bigger, not sharper.
- Magnification
- Sharpness
Digital zoom crops the sensor image and enlarges what is left. It adds no detail, so each step makes the picture bigger but softer.
Example image only. Not filmed through this product. Pig and deer stills supplied by HIKMICRO and Nocpix; fox and rabbit are thermal-style images we made from photos by A. Omer Karamollaoglu (CC BY 2.0) and Alexis Lours (CC BY 4.0). Field of view and zoom are simulated from typical specs (640×512 sensor, 35 mm lens) because this product's specs are not on file. Real results change with weather, display and settings.

Pulsar Symbion LRF DXR50: thermal, 4K digital and a 1500 m rangefinder
Thermal to find the animal, a 4K digital channel to identify it, and a 1500 m laser rangefinder to range it, all in one pair of binoculars. One device instead of three.
Two channels, one view
The 640×480, 12 µm thermal sensor sits behind a 50 mm F/1.0 lens, with a system NETD below 18 mK for a clean, high-contrast picture. A separate 4K digital channel gives you a daylight-style image, with a focusable 850 nm IR illuminator when it gets dark. Run either on its own, or both at once with Picture-in-Picture. The thermal channel has 4–32× magnification and the digital channel 6.5–26×.
Laser rangefinder and ballistics
The built-in 905 nm laser rangefinder reads out to 1500 m with ±1 m accuracy, so you can range on the spot. Load your rifle and ammo profile through the Stream Vision Ballistics app and use the ballistic calculator for the point of aim.
Built for a long night
Two APS5 batteries (4900 mAh) give up to 10 hours at 22 °C, and USB-C power delivery runs it from a power bank. The magnesium alloy body is IP67 rated, and the 1920×1080 AMOLED display has 13 mm of eye relief. Photos and video save to 64 GB of built-in memory and stream to the Stream Vision 2 app over Wi-Fi.
Other features
- Detection range 2300 m (deer-size target)
- Image stabilisation
- Digital zoom ×2, ×4 and ×8
- Wi-Fi 2.4/5 GHz and Bluetooth 4.2 BLE
- 1/4" tripod socket and tripod adapter supplied
Best for
Glassing big paddocks and bush edges where you want to find, identify and range an animal without swapping devices. At about 1 kg it is a binocular to settle in and glass with, so if you just want a pocket scout, a thermal monocular is lighter. Tell us how and where you hunt and we will point you to the right Symbion.
