Needs first. HIKMICRO Alpex is a digital day/night riflescope, not a thermal. Colour by day, black-and-white with an IR torch after dark, in a 30 mm tube. If the job is finding heat through cover with no illuminator, that is a Stellar or Panther thermal, not Alpex. If you want one scope that looks like a day optic and still works after last light, stay here. Start with a Condor, Lynx or Falcon handheld so you are not waving the rifle to find animals. Then pick Alpex by quarry and typical shot distance, not by a price ladder.

Considerations. Lock the objective to the distances you actually shoot. Close pest work around ~150 m (rimfire, airgun, tight paddocks) is the 40 mm Lite class. Foxes at 250 m and longer feral shots want 50 mm: the 4K A50E/A50EL, or the Pro A50PL when you need the 12 MP sensor and Light Pro low-light processing. Alpex Lite — 40 mm, closer country

The A40E and A40EL Lite are the compact 40 mm F2.0 4K scopes. Use them when the hunt is inside ~150 m: rabbits, foxes off the ute, rimfire and airgun rigs that cannot carry a 50 mm tube. The EL adds a built-in rangefinder. IR torch is a consideration, not a substitute for a handheld scanner. In stock: A40E Lite, A40EL Lite LRF.

Alpex 4K — 50 mm all-round centrefire

The A50E and A50EL run the 3840×2160 sensor on a 50 mm objective with adjustable aperture. This is the default Alpex when foxes and feral shots sit past ~150 m. The EL adds a 1000 m LRF and ballistic calculator. In stock: A50E, A50EL LRF.

Alpex Pro — 12 MP flagship

The Alpex Pro A50PL keeps the 50 mm class and steps the sensor to 4512×2512 (12 MP) with Light Pro processing, F1.8 glass, a 1200 m LRF and AMOLED display. Pick Pro when dusk identification and extra on-screen detail matter more than carrying the 4K A50. It is still digital day/night, not thermal.

Is Alpex a thermal scope?

No. Alpex is digital day/night vision. Thermal (Stellar, Panther, Condor) sees heat with no light. Alpex needs an IR illuminator in pitch black and gives you a daylight-style colour picture by day. If you need heat, leave this collection.

40 mm Lite or 50 mm 4K?

Needs first: distance and rifle. Around ~150 m on a light rig, Lite. Past that — foxes at 250 m, longer feral shots — 50 mm. Sensor megapixels add detail and low-light hold, not raw reach. The lens does the distance work.

When do I pick the Alpex Pro A50PL?

When the hunt already wants 50 mm and you want the 12 MP sensor, Light Pro dusk performance and the 1200 m LRF. It is a consideration after the lens class is locked, not a budget step.

Do I still need a monocular with Alpex?

Yes. Hunt The Night always spots with a handheld first. Do not sweep the paddock with a scoped firearm. A Lynx or Condor finds the animal; Alpex takes the shot once you are on it.
