ThermTec thermal covers spotting, scopes and clip-ons at a fair price. Spot with a Cyclone, then take the shot with an Ares, Vidar or Oryx scope. Got a day scope you love? The Hunt clip-ons keep it in the game. L models have a rangefinder built in. Ask us to help match a setup.

How it fits together. A Wild handheld finds the heat, counts the mob and helps you plan the stalk, then an Ares, Vidar, Oryx or Hunt clip-on takes the shot. A Wild monocular finds heat, counts the mob and plans the stalk; Ares, Vidar, Oryx or Hunt takes the shot once you are on quarry.

Once the lens is sorted, it's tube or compact (Ares and Oryx, or Vidar), clip-on or full scope, a built-in rangefinder, battery type and weight.

Spot first — Wild monoculars

Have a look at ThermTec Thermal Monoculars. For open country, the Wild 650L and Wild 635L are the popular picks. For closer work inside 150 m, a 325 or 335 does the job. Pair any ThermTec scope or clip-on with a handheld for spotting.

Take the shot — Ares / Vidar / Oryx scopes

Match the lens to your spotter on ThermTec Thermal Scopes. Go 35 mm (the 335s) for fence lines and scrub, or 50–65 mm (the 650s and 660s) for foxes past 150 m. Ares and Oryx are classic tube scopes, and Vidar is compact. Popular picks with a rangefinder: the Ares 660L, Vidar 650L and Oryx 650L.

Keep the day scope — Hunt clip-ons

Want to keep your day scope and its zero? That's what a clip-on is for. Have a look at ThermTec Thermal Clip-Ons. The Hunt 650 Pro LRF is the popular pick for open country.

ThermTec Thermal Imaging Australia — FAQ

Monocular, scope or clip-on first?

Start with the monocular, then pick a ThermTec scope or a Hunt clip-on for the shot. Our guide start with a spotter explains why.

35 mm or 50–65 mm?

It comes down to how far you shoot. Inside about 150 m, a 335 does the job. For foxes in open country around 250 m, go a 650 or 660.
