The teeth used are curved and smooth. They are not jagged. They interlock with each other when joined. When the clamp is closed via a cam lever the grooves interlock and when secured they do not slip or move under heavy strain or shock. The center has a lower level which is in a dove tail shape which closes\/clamps on to a picatinny rail.
